The Seattle 2.0 Awards took place last night and the winners are in:

  • Best Startup: Picnik
  • Best Boot-strapped Startup: Picnik
  • Best Startup CEO: Jonathan Sposato of Picnik
  • Best Startup Technologist: Nat Brown of iLike
  • Best Venture Capitalist: Matt McIlwain of Madrona Venture Group
  • Best Angel Investor: Geoff Entress
  • Best Startup Product Designer: Peter Roman of Picnik
  • Best Service Provider to Startups: Shannon Swift of Swift HR Solutions
  • Best Blog from/about Startups: TechFlash/John Cook
  • Best Social Event for Startups: Lunch 2.0 by Josh Maher

As you can see Picnik was the big winner of the night. Best Blog winner John Cook of TechFlash was their to pick up his award and had this to report:

By the time Picnik co-founder Jonathan Sposato walked on stage for the last time last night at the inaugural Seattle 2.0 awards, he was pretty much out of material. And with good reason. Sposato's online photo editing startup was the big winner at the packed event at the Pacific Science Center, taking home top prizes in four of the 10 categories.

"I feel like we are the Slumdog Millionaire of the night," said Sposato, after winning the award for "Best Seattle Startup." His company also won in the categories of "Best Bootstrapped Startup" and "Best Startup CEO." Picnik's Peter Roman was named the "Best Startup Product Designer." As Sposato was routinely called up on stage, he kept referring to his winning way as a "fluke."

Congrats to all the winners. Looking forward tro meeting some of them at the WTIA's Fast Pitch Forum laster this month.
