Toronto-based startup Pinpoint Social, a self-service platform that allows businesses, designers and marketers to create Facebook contests, giveaways or coupons, yesterday launched its self-service platform. Along with this, the company has announced that it has adopted a freemium model which allows anyone to build, launch a campaign and accept up to 50 entries, without paying a cent.
“We understand that not every business or agency has a designer and developer in house, and what we’ve built is a platform that allows any brand or business to launch great-looking and effective Facebook promotions for themselves or their clients,” says Daniel Patricio, Pinpoint Social’s founder and product manager. “We want anyone in the organisation to be able to launch a campaign - no coding required.”
Focusing on the simple entry mechanisms that work, Pinpoint Social’s campaign design and user interface is one of the things Daniel Patricio has prioritized, and it shows. “With a self-service product, user experience is everything,” says Daniel. “Our freemium model doesn’t work if people aren’t creating campaigns. We’ve focused on making that process as easy and fun as possible.”
And what about results? “We’ve been in private beta for a few months now. We’re proud of the results we’re helping our clients to achieve. Whether they’re looking to grow their fan base or want to create a direct return on investment by offering an exclusive coupon to their Facebook fans, our product is performing well. We have more than a few examples of clients going from a few hundred to thousands of fans in a one-month period, or even less.”
