Polar Mobile and Hockey News partner to launch mobile apps for every NHL team

The Hockey News and Toronto startup Polar Mobile have partnered to launch mobile apps for iPhone, Android, and BlackBerry smartphones for every National Hockey League franchise.

The apps will go live next month to  start of the 2011-2012 NHL season.

"The opportunity to launch individually branded Apps for each NHL franchise will provide hockey fans with an unbiased, full-featured experience on-the-go tailored for their favourite team anywhere, anytime," said Caroline Andrews, Publisher, The Hockey News. "Polar Mobile has been our partner for over 3 years in mobile and we look forward to continuing to grow with them as a leader in sports on mobile."
