PrecisionHawk Raises $18 Million to Help Companies Use Commercial Drones

Flying drones in the US is risky business at the moment. PrecisionHawk wants to help.

The Canadian-born company has raised a Series C round to the tune of $18 million USD, reports TechCrunch, to help companies use drones for commercial purposes without running into legal troubles—or other drones.

PrecisionHawk, now based in North Carolina, wants to become the go-to provider of data and safety services for the rapidlu growing commercial drone industry, according to CEO Bob Young. Its services include DataMapper, a cloud-based data analytics product, and LATAS, which helps operators track, verify, and report flights.
