Preo Software inks licensing deal with Xerox

Preo Software Inc. has entered into a licensing agreement with copier giant Xerox to develop assesment tools and software products that measure the amount of colour coverage on a page in real-time. Right now the software works with the ColorQube 9200 series of copiers.

Part of the agreement has already been implemented as end-users can visit www.xerox.com/finallycolorisless to upload a sample page to assess its cost to copy on a ColorQube printer.

The new printer is pretty cool in its own right too - it features solid ink CMYK cartridges that look like mutant crayons melting into the machine instead of traditional toner. The result is 90 per cent less waste over the life of the machine.
