Propel Magazine launches in Alberta

propel A new magazine is launching in Alberta at Wednesday's Moonlight in the Meadows event. Propel Magazine aims to explore how new media, technology, and marketing affect the Alberta business professional.

Magazines such as AlbertaVenture do a good job of exploring the business side of things, but to my knowledge Propel is one of the only local print publications tackling technology:

Technology will be a current running throughout every issue of Propel. What technology is being introduced now and in the future that will change how Albertans do business? How will it affect the bottom line and what new opportunities will it bring? How will emerging technologies affect customers and markets, in Alberta, Canada and beyond?

I wrote a couple of articles for the first issue, so I'm excited to see how it turns out! On the cover is Doug Horner, Alberta's Advanced Education & Technology Minister. A couple of the local companies featured inside include iStockPhoto and Zigtag.

Propel will be available as a quarterly free-distribution magazine. Starting August 20th, you can find copies at TEC Edmonton, Calgary Technologies Inc., and at a number of participating businesses throughout Edmonton and Calgary. You can also contact Clearpath SEO for more information.

Seems like a good idea; it will be interesting to see the first issue!

The propelmag.ca website however looks like it hasn't been updated in awhile...

That's true Justin. I think they were focused on getting the first print issue out the door...hopefully anyway.

I am looking forward to reading it!

Hopefully they update their site soon. Is there anywhere to go for more information in the meantime?

I think your best bet would be to contact Clearpath SEO: http://www.clearpathseo.com/

Site is updated! Sry for the lag but as Mack said we were focusing on getting the first issue out. We actually updated the site last week and we're now trying to keep it fresh. We invite any bloggers in Alberta to contact us if you have any ideas or blog posts you would like to publish.

Great new Magazine. We have a new Spam Protection product called PureInbox that you might be interested in writing about in an upcoming issue.

We will release in September.

Is there someone that I can talk to at your office?

Again, Thanks for a new magazine venture.
