Public Mobile kiosks pop up in Zellers

Public Mobile is now in 29 Zellers locations in Montreal and the Greater Toronto Area. The startup discount wireless carrier has continued to grow within the two regions, though has not expanded beyond them.

2011 was a big year for Public as it popped up in numerous Walmart locations as well. It also enhanced its product portfolio by adding a more diverse range of Android devices.

Public Mobile reached the milestone of 150,000 subscribers this year, still far behind competitor Wind Mobile (350,000). Wind had kiosks in Blockbuster stores before the latter went bankrupt and shuttered. Mobilicity recently added kiosks to Metro stores.
