Club Penguin, the Kelowna startup that famously sold to Disney for hundreds of millions of dollars just a couple years after a from-scratch launch, has released its first mobile app.
Puffle Launch is a 99¢ iPhone and iPad game targeted at kids. The app lets players take their Club Penguin pets, or Puffles, on an adventure that replicates an existing web game of the same game. Puffle Launch for the web, which launched in March last year, gets 150,000 plays daily.
The app is only a fraction of the web experience Club Penguin offers, so future apps are no doubt in the works.
