Real Ventures celebrates one year and 18 investments

Posted by Rob Lewis

It's been one year since Montreal's Real Ventures launched and today they summarized their year in numbers on their blog.

  • 570 – Companies we were introduced to
  • 1,500 – Company meetings
  • 160,000 – Air miles
  • 18 - Investments
  • 30 - Founders

That's a lot of air miles for a fund that is squarely focused on Quebec.

And 18 investments is an impressive number. But it really doesn't represent Real Ventures' importance to the Montreal startup community.

In addition to standout portfolio companies like Localmind, Vanilla Forums, and Beyond The Rack, Real Ventures is the main driver of hometown startup accelerator FounderFuel.

The first cohort of FounderFuel companies graduates next month and everyone is invited to attend Demo Day on November 8th. 400+ people have registered to date, so the event promises to be another feather in Real Ventures' cap.
