RIM Fires Drunk Flying Employees
After two employees of Research In Motion became so drunk and rowdy they forced the airplane to land mid-flight, the company has decided to fire them.
“RIM expects that its employees conduct themselves in a manner reflective of our strong principles and standards of business behaviour,” the company said in a statement. "RIM does not condone behaviour that conflicts with applicable laws and employees are expected to act, at all times, with integrity and respect. The individuals involved in this incident are no longer employed by RIM."
The two employees were George Campbell, age 45, and Paul Wilson, age 38. They each paid over $35,000 in fines from the airline, which was flying from Toronto to Beijing but had to stop in Vancouver due to the pair acting outrageously. So outrageously, in fact, that they were handcuffed to seats.
