Royal Bank of Canada analyst Mike Abramsky says that Waterloo's Research in Motion has sold roughly 250,000 BlackBerry PlayBooks to date, calling sales "steady."

This puts the pace of sales well ahead of some competition, such as the Motorola Xoom, but still far behind that of Apple's iPad 2.

However, it is believed that the PlayBook is establishing itself as the number-one tablet for those seeking a 7-inch device.
