BBMResearch in Motion's Blackberry Messenger services will not be banned in October as previously threatened by the United Arab Emirates after the telecom giant agreed to meet certain conditions.

Saudi authorities will be able to read encrypted text sent via Blackberry Messenger—but only between Blackberries in the country, and only the Messenger service, not email or other communication channels.

The Ontario-based king of enterprise telecom has yet to comment on the final arrangement.
