RIM reveals that one of its senior vice-presidents actually left the company months ago
Jim Tobin has been a ghost for months.
The former senior vice-president for software and business services at RIM actually left the company month's ago, but RIM has only just confirmed the departure.
Jim, who was involved in RIM's move into cloud-based services and reported directly to co-CEO Jim Balsillie, represents just one of many resignations in recent months.
Don Morrison, a chief operating office, left in July. And since then, three more people have left—including two who went to rival Samsung. While RIM's depleted management team is not making the best decisions, its entire workforce is thinning too: in the summer RIM announced it was slashing 11% of its headcount due to diminished sales and decreasing profit.
RIM's share price now hovers in the low 20's after reaching a peak of $140 in 2008.
