RIM works to take-over Certicom

It's been a busy couple days for Research In Motion (RIM). In addition to today's news, they announced yesterday that a wholly-owned subsidiary of RIM has formally commenced a take-over bid for Mississauga's Certicom Corp. The formal announcements of the offer appeared yesterday in The Globe and Mail and in Le Devoir.

Certicom has stated that other suitors have expressed unsolicited interest in acquiring Certicom as well. Management of Certicom has recently been engaged in discussions specifically with RIM and another party and has attempted to engage them in a fair process. RIM wasn't interested and yesterday's take-over bid was the result.
