RobotReplay no longer Nitobi's

In January I suggested that Nitobi's Andre Charland was one of BC's Digital Media People to Watch in 2009. Turns out I haven't been watching him closely enough.

While we've stayed on top of Nitobi's success with PhoneGap (top spot at Web 2.0 Launchpad), the sale of their RobotReplay product to Ann Arbour's ForeSee Results was completely under our radar. So much so that we didn't find out about it until reading Foresee's announcement of the launch of CS SessionReplay today.

CS SessionReplay is a new tool that records what selected site visitors are seeing and doing on a website in a real-time movie format, including recording a user’s mouse clicks and movements, page scrolling, form entry, and all interactivity with a website.

Apparently ForeSee Results acquired the technology behind CS SessionReplay last fall from Nitobi. Which explains their epic 2008 Xmas party at the Alibi Room.

Well done Nitobians! Scotch and beer for all!

Sounds like a cool product; Google Analytics's click mapping seems downright primitive in comparison to being able to deliver a quicktime movie of a user's actions on a site.
