Rogers Expands LTE Network in Vancouver and Toronto
Today, Rogers announced that its Long Term Evolution wireless network service is now available in more cities in the Greater Toronto Area and surrounding Vancouver. Rogers first launched an LTE network this summer in Ottawa, and later Toronto, Montreal and Vancouver.
Surrounding Toronto, the network is now live in Mississauga, Brampton, Vaughan, Richmond Hill, and Markham. Surrounding Vancouver, Rogers now offers access to an LTE network in the communities of West Vancouver, North Vancouver, Port Coquitlam, Delta, Langley, Surrey, and Maple Ridge.
"Today more Rogers customers from the east and west can experience the future of fast as we continue to expand the gold standard wireless network technology, the Rogers LTE network to more Canadian cities surrounding Toronto and Vancouver," said John Boynton, Executive Vice President and Chief Marketing Officer, Rogers Communications. "We are proud to be first to offer the LTE network to more cities in the Greater Toronto Area and surrounding Vancouver."
Rogers says its LTE network will expand to more than 30% of Canada's population by the end of 2011.
