Rogers Laying Off 375 Employees

by Knowlton Thomas

Rogers this morning confirmed speculation that it is slashing several hundred jobs in an effort to curb costs.

While some rumours suggested as many as 1,000 of the company's roughly 28,000 employees would face layoffs, Rogers has come forth to say the number is closer to 375. This follows the elimination of 300 jobs earlier this year.

“This is part of a comprehensive approach to cost management that we announced earlier this year,” spokeswoman Patricia Trott said in a statement.

Rogers says that these layoffs are just one component of a larger scheme to rein in overall spending.
