Tony Viner is moving on.

According to Rogers-owned Marketing Mag, "...Rogers Communications Inc. announced today that Tony Viner is retiring from his post as chief executive officer of Rogers Media after 29 years with the company."

"Tony is a well-known and respected leader in the Canadian media industry," said Mohamed in a note to Rogers staff. "When he joined Rogers in 1982, we only owned five radio stations. Today Rogers has the most enviable media assets in the industry. Among his many accomplishments, Tony turned OMNI around when it was at the brink of receivership; he grew Sportsnet into one of our most profitable media properties; he led the revolutionary format change at 680 News; and he laid the groundwork for Rogers' foray into the digital media space."

So, if you're a media professional in Canada and you're looking for work, you might want to polish off your resume and LinkedIn profile.

Techvibes wishes Tony Viner all the success in his future endeavours.
