Rogers opening up its APIs to encourage innovation
When consumers think of Rogers they think of... open API's? Not likely, until now.
For the first time, Rogers has opened up several of its APIs to developers with the brand new Rogers Catalyst Beta program. Access to these APIs will allow developers to build compelling new cloud-based services and apps that leverage the Rogers network.
At launch, Rogers is providing access to network resources like SMS, location, and billing – with support for MMS and other capabilities coming soon. The Rogers Catalyst Beta includes a very simple and free registration, click-through agreements, code samples, docs, tips & tricks, a development sandbox, and the ability to interact directly with other developers.
As a result consumers may have access to some new and cutting edge applications.
