Last week the San Francisco Chronicle reported that Salesforce has signed a 400,000-square-foot lease in San Francisco worth nearly $340 million. The biggest office space deal in the city in the past decade.

The 18-year agreement at 50 Fremont Street expands the company’s downtown presence by 50 percent, providing enough space for around 2,000 employees.

This year Salesforce's footprint in Canada continues to grow as well.

Word on the street is that Salesforce just signed a 17,500-square-foot lease in Vancouver at The Landing worth over $4 million. The 5-year agreement at 375 Water Street in Gastown will see Salesforce take over the top floor that was previously occupied by Intrawest.

According to the Chronicle article Salesforce's headcount climbed by at least 1,700 in the last year, reaching around 7,000.
