The Samsung Galaxy Nexus is going to be widely available across Canada from the big three carriers, Rogers, Telus, and Bell. The phone will include the new Android Ice Cream Sandwich operating system and is expected to hit Bell stores in early December, so you can start pre-ordering just in time for Christmas. If you're with Rogers or Telus, you might just have to wait until 2012.

Samsung in Canada now represents 24-26% of the overall mobile market and 21% of the smartphone market according to the IDC and other sources.

The Samsung executives I spoke to in Toronto said that this is the first phone that Samsung feels like they collaborated with Google on, bringing the best of their capabilities together. Essentially Samsung has brought the famous "swipe functionality to the Google Nexus. It also includes "NFC tap" data transfer capabilities where you simply tap your phone with another NFC-compatible phone to complete the transfer. Of course you can use the NFC for mobile payments when that functionality becomes widely available.

You can also do offline reading, pick between the mobile and desktop versions of websites you browse, and use a mobile data usage limiter functionality to make sure you don't go over your monthly data allotance.
