Why do cellular phone bills have to be so complicated? Every month it is nearly impossible to understand exactly what you are being charged for. After reading about a cell phone bill validation tool called Validas last month on Techcrunch, I was hopeful that the service would be available North of the Border for those of us that use Bell, Rogers, or Telus.
Validas' mission is to save you money on your cell phone bill and make sure that you get the best deal on your service every month. Blackberry users may actually get some clarity and I know of one iPhone user that will be happy to say goodbye to her 300 page bill in a box.
Validas' COO Dave Chalmers tracked me down to chat about their business model and launch plans. Chalmers was formerly with Waterloo-based Research in Motion, so he wasn't surprised when I asked the obvious - when will it be available to analyze my Telus bill? Look for the service to work on Canadian carrier bills in the New Year and check out their online demo in the meantime.
Do the in-coming calls show up on your bill?
On a Rogers phone.
