SavvyMom Media Collective Connects Advertisers with Canadian Mom Bloggers

According to a 2011 survey published jointly by BlogFrog and The Social Studies Group, “more than 40% of influential women bloggers either remain undiscovered by brands and/or have never been approached by them.”

Meanwhile, “two-thirds of the women bloggers (who do get approached) end up rejecting at least half the pitches they receive from brands.” The survey indicated that women bloggers want “long-term, deeper relationships with a few special brands.”

In an effort to foster a more successful brand/blogger relationship, SavvyMom Media this week announced the launch of SavvyMom Media Collective. It's a new division which offers advertisers custom sponsorship opportunities, including display and integrated content advertising, with some of the most influential and engaging mom blogs in Canada.

“Bloggers are the new consumer-advocate for moms, yet despite their desire to work with brands and share their experiences with their audience, there hasn’t been an efficient, impactful, and mutually beneficial way for both parties to work together,” says Minnow Hamilton, editor-in-chief of SavvyMom Media.

According to the SavvyMom Media press release, the SavvyMom Media Collective helps brands tap into SavvyMom’s well respected profile in the Canadian mom community and their expertise in social media marketing. “It’s a natural extension of the SavvyMom Media offering,” says Hamilton. Earlier this year, SavvyMom Media launched SavvyStories, a site channel which offers fresh content and authentic writing from over 100 of the best Canadian mom blogs.

In order to help brands to connect with moms in an authentic and meaningful way, while also supporting the mom bloggers financially for their content, audience and influence, Hamilton says  SavvyMom Media Collective works with brands to develop a customized, high-impact program to suit the advertising campaign.

“We also make recommendations to the mom bloggers that help ensure that the content is authentic and not just a straight forward product review. In addition, we encourage full disclosure – transparency is huge,” she says.

SavvyMom Media Collective bloggers are already working with brands like Smuckers and President’s Choice.
