Sean Collins has joined Startup Calgary as their vice president of partnerships.
According to Startup Calgary, Sean will be growing their capabilities "to offer more networking and educational events for the community."
"Sean is incredibly passionate about the startup community in Alberta and has been the driving force behind building AccelerateAB into the largest startup tech event in our province," explains Hisham Al-Shurafa, chairman of Startup Calgary. "[He] was also one of the original Co-Founders of PlanHero, one of the first companies to go through Startup Edmonton's flagship Flightpath Program."
Sean will be working hand in hand with Jason Zeiler, Startup Calgary's development director, who will keep his focus on organizing and hosting startup events, as well as creating driving new events and programs in 2013, according to the organization.
Startup Calgary also noted that Arpad Barabas is stepping down from chairman to a director role to focus on his recently funded startup, Mobizou.
"I'm thrilled to be taking over Arpad's spot as board chair and to be working with Sean & Jason to take Startup Calgary to the next level in 2013," Hisham says.
