Seattle 2.0 launches Twitter directory

by Rob Lewis

Seattle 2.0 launched a Twitter Directory today for the executives, entrepreneurs, investors and all the people around the high-tech startups in Seattle and it looks pretty cool.

Unlike other directories Seattle 2.0's directory is unique as all listings are verified and guaranteed to be part of the startup community.

We are also adding a “Score” to each account. Scores are computed based on the number of people from the startup community following that person, between other metrics. In other words, if an account has 200 followers and just 1 entrepreneur following it, it will have a lower score than an account that has 100 followers and 10 entrepreneurs following it.

We also allow you to see the accounts by sorting them in many different ways, from the number of followers, to the number of entrepreneurs following that account to the category associated with each account.

On top of the directory, they have also launched two super useful features - Find People and Follow Friday. Find People is an easy way for you to check the people you are not following and be able to follow them in batch (up to 25 at a time) using your Twitter username and password.  Follow Friday is a fully automated system that will automatically chose 3 tweeps to do a blog post and a #FollowFriday. The system is implemented in a way that rotates through all accounts meeting certain criteria (more than 100 followers, more than 30 days old, etc.).

Members of the Seattle high-tech starup comunity are invited to submit their username to get listed and start gaming the system asap.

Update: @techvibes applied for inclusion in the directory since we cover the Seattle tech community but were rejected because we're not located in Seattle. Ouch.

Update: We're on the list now.

Update: Removed again.  :-(
