Seattle's Dave Schappell likes what he sees in Vancouver

Last week TeachStreet.com's Dave Schappell of Seattle came North to Vancouver to participate in a VEF Momentum event.  Schappell was kind enough to follow up with Techvibes to share his experience (and his presentation) and in short he reported that "the event was awesome and I'll definitely be back up for more". Great news for Vancouver.

You see, Teachstreet.com has raised over $3 Million from Dave McClure, Madrona Ventures, Bezos Expeditions and several prominent angel investors. Schappell’s background includes an MBA from The Wharton School of Business, stints at online pioneers Amazon and JibJab, as well as being a board member and advisor to some of the hottest start-ups in Silicon Valley.

At the VEF Momentum event Schappell shared his experiences on how to prepare for failure, getting customers to give you money, and how Teachstreet.com is revolutionizing local learning. Flip through Taking your Startup from Free to Paid when you have a minute:

In time for the holidays TeachStreet.com recently made it easy to add their classes to Wish Lists at Amazon.com.

In the few days since launching the Amazon “Add to Wish List” buttons, the Amazon visitors to TeachStreet have been twice as likely to engage with TeachStreet classes and teachers which indicates that the idea of both “giving and getting” learning experiences as gifts resonates with holiday shoppers.
