Security still holding consumers back from making mobile payments
The hype surrounding the mobile payments market has been fluctuating since early 2000. Exponential market growth has been predicted year after year with no results. But why?
Vancouver's Mobio Identity Systems likes research and data as we saw with their study last month on the barcode scanning habits of Canadians. This month Mobio looks closer at what has been holding back consumers in the mobile payments market?
Today Mobio released a comprehensive report on mobile payment adoption and use in North America called Mobile Commerce Handcuffs. It contains findings from a survey distributed to North American consumers. The report reveals that 94% of respondents would make a mobile payment if they knew it was secure.

There are numerous additional findings, which are supported with charts, graphs, and statistics. Overall, the report highlights the significance of security as a barrier to growth of the m-commerce market.
