Shareholders pleading with RIM to sell company or spin off patents
Vic Alboini, chief executive of Jaguar Financial, has stated that Research In Motion "cannot sit still" and said the "status quo is not acceptable," urging the Waterloo company to consider a sale or at least spin off its patent portfolio to ease the pain of investors.
RIM shares have surged 20% this past month, but at $30 the price is a cliff drop from its 2008 high of $140.
Previously, shareholders insisted that RIM have only one CEO and one chairman, as it currently has two, Jim Balsillie and Mike Lazaridis. However, this did not come to pass.
