Sharing Files in the Cloud

The kinds of companies that are going to make it through the current economic climate will have their security locked down and costs cut down as far as they'll go. So now we've got another company that seems to be following that path.

HostedFTP.com seems to have come up with a secure and cost-effective cloud-computing solution to an old problem: sharing files simply and securely.

The company aims to deal with the security factor by encrypting their FTP server backed by Amazon.com infrastructure to ensure usernames and passwords are safeguarded. No need to leave the files public on the Internet.

Customers only need a browser to use the service, so the simple factor is covered, too. Looks like something to look into for SMBs.
