Shifting Into Overdroid: Are you prepared for the takeover? [Infographic]

Last year, 100,000 Android devices were being activated per day. Last month, it was 400,000. Now, thanks to a growth rate of more than four percent per week, it has already hit 500,000—that's 22,000 per hour, or 360 per minute, or 6 per second.

That's one hell of a busy little green Droid. And he's just getting warmed up.

Android apps have been downloaded a total of 4.5 billion times—with the most recent on billion occurring in the last 60 days alone.

With over 200,000 apps available, only Apple's iPhone is app-competitve with Android.

Based on the app's current growth trajectory, Android may hit 600,000 daily activations by the end of this month and 10 billion app downloads milestone by the end of this year.
