Beginning today, ShopLocket sellers can connect their Stripe accounts to ShopLocket, offering an alternative to Paypal for their buyers.

ShopLocket has been using Stripe to power its own invoicing system to date. The team says they have had an incredible experience with Stripe both as a customer and a partner. The payment solution company has been dubbed the easiest way to start accepting payments online by its dedicated users. So, given ShopLocket’s focus on removing barriers in the online commerce space, the Stripe partnership makes a lot of sense.
Through the Stripe integration, which works seamlessly with the ShopLocket workflow, even users who have never sold a product or made an online purchase can begin selling and accepting payments in a flash. All that’s required is a simple authorization for those with existing merchant accounts, similar to how you connect your Facebook account to a third party website.
When you’re ready to create an account, the ShopLocket and Stripe platforms will walk you through a simple step-by-step process. In addition to ShopLocket’s one-time $2 publishing fee and 2.5% transaction fee, Stripe charges a 2.9% + $0.30 transaction fee whenever a product is sold. The good news is that there are no setup fees or listing fees.
Stripe is currently only be available to US customers. However, the Stripe team has recently seen a lot of interest from Canadian developers and is working hard to make the service available outside of the US.
