Fashion Tech Startup Looks to Disrupt Traditional Advertising for Lifestyle Brands

Finding the right marketing tools in today’s digital age is a daunting challenge, particularly for cost-conscious small- to medium-size companies.

Vancouver-based fashion tech startup Sidebuy aims to bridge the divide between fashion and lifestyle brands and the social online influencers who can get their products noticed.

Sidebuy is a web and mobile platform that serves as a marketplace which matches brands with bloggers and influencers that represent their customers and have an audience that matches the brand’s target customers.

Brands save time and money by connecting directly with their target market and influencers find fresh, authentic content to share with their followers.

Today 70% of consumers in Canada, the United States and the United Kingdom trust influencer or consumer opinions on products more than other sources, and over three-quarters of internet users say online rating and reviews influence their buying decisions, according to “Mapping Your Future Growth,” a report from the Business Development Bank of Canada.

“What sets Sidebuy apart is the analytics it offers,” explains Sidebuy founder and CEO Mona Akhavi.
