Nova Scotia's SimplyCast today announced the launch of its Next Star Employee initiative.
The Dartmouth-based startup describes the initiative as a paid internship program for high school students, which it claims is the only one of its kind in Canada.
According to SimplyCast, the program champions the education and advancement of high school students while also promoting the development of future leaders. Students with a passion for learning have the opportunity to build and strengthen their skills and have their ideas impact a successful real-world company, the Canadian company says.
“At SimplyCast we are committed to finding and developing new talent,” explains Saeed El-Darahali, president and CEO of SimplyCast. “There is no experience required, just passion. We have a thriving organization centred right here in Nova Scotia, and we want young people to realize they do not have to move far from home to have successful careers.”
SimplyCast is the perfect place for students to expand their knowledge and share their ideas. The company fosters a welcoming environment where asking questions and making mistakes are encouraged. The paid internship takes place over the summer months and gives students the opportunity to interact with professionals working in their area of interest.
“Everyone is here to help new employees learn and have a fun, positive experience,” added Isiah Wint-Rose, SimplyCast's Next Star Ambassador. “We value the input of every team member and we want to encourage the talents of the young people who join us.”
