SimplyCast simplifies multi-channel marketing from Nova Scotia

Last month Techvibes was invited by the Trade Commissioner Service to attend Venture NORTH 2011 in New York along with an impressive list of Canadian companies in life sciences, ICT and cleantech.

The goal of Venture NORTH is to accelerate growth through strategic exposure to opportunities for R&D financing and partnerships in the North East United States.

Software as a Service company SimplyCast is based in Dartmouth, Nova Scotia. A provider of interactive marketing software, SimplyCast’s multi-channel marketing allows automation of email, survey, event, SMS, fax, and auto-responder marketing.

But the services they provide are more than that; SimplyCast allows users to build marketing campaigns simply and effectively, building multi-pronged campaigns to connect with target demographics in the best way possible. Also, SimplyCast can monitor blacklisted IPs, and more importantly, their clients’ blacklisted IPs, to make sure that they are not being blacklisted by email filters and being mistakenly branded as spammers.

After completing a round of equity financing in December of 2009 that raised $1 million from local investors, SimplyCast received a further $1 million from the Province of Nova Scotia through Nova Scotia Business Inc. (NSBI), the province's business development agency. That funding was used to hire additional staff to accommodate their flagship product’s clientele growth.

Growth is in the cards for SimplyCast, and their five-year plan calls for lots of new hires. The company established a career network earlier this month to attract talent and promote SimplyCast as a great place to work.

Since 2009, Saeed El-Darahali has been the man in charge at SimplyCast. He originally joined the company as an advisor in 2006, and then was made president and CEO in 2009. El-Darahali is a serial entrepreneur who has experience in online marketing, SEM, SEO, web development, blogging, press release strategies, multi-media, branding, and email marketing. He holds a Masters of Business Administration, a Bachelor of Science in Computer Science, a Certificate of Human Resource Management and Minor in Economics, all from Saint Mary's University in Halifax, Nova Scotia.
