Not ready to pitch your business idea to Angels or VCs? Test out you business plan in the safe confines of the Small Business BC Business Plan Contest. $18,000 in cash awards are spread out over four categories - the CGA-BC Business Start-up award, the Telus Business Growth Award, the Community Leadership Award, and the Going Global award.

“Small Business BC’s Annual Business Plan Contest provides recognition and exposure for new and existing small businesses and acknowledges the important economic contribution of B.C.’s entrepreneurs,” says Rod Young, Small Business BC’s Acting General Manager. The Contest, a free, province-wide competition open to all new and existing small businesses, provides an opportunity for entrepreneurs to network, promote their businesses and take the next important step towards making their business dreams a reality.

The deadline for entering your business plan is noon on Tuesday, December 16th. Finalists do business pitch presentations the week of February 9-13, 2009 and the awards ceremony is on Tuesday, March 3, 2009. Enter your business plan here.
