So RIM has a lot of new OS 7 BlackBerry smartphones coming soon. How do they fair spec-wise? Here's some details of the two most notable BlackBerry models, the first touchscreen bold and the first candybar Torch.

The keyboard-less Torch (9860)

This next-gen Torch will have a 3.7-inch, 800 x 400-pixel touchscreen with no physical keyboard (!). it has voice-activated search, a digital compass and accelerometer, and up to 14 Mbps download speed and 6 Mbps upload speed. Memory starts at 8 GB and go up to 32 Gb, while its 5-megapixel camera can shoot 720p HD video.

The first touch Bold (9900)

Nearing the five-digit model number, this 9900 Bold is the first such BlackBerry with a touchscreen and the thinnest Bold ever made. It has the largest Qwerty keyboard of any BlackBerry and a 2.8-inch touchscreen. it has the same OS 7 features as the Torch, as well as the same download and upload max speeds. Again, like the Torch 9860, memory starts at 8 GB and go up to 32 Gb, while its 5-megapixel camera can shoot 720p HD video.

Telus has confirmed it will carry both of these models, as well as the other new BlackBerrys, in August. They're 4G-compatible, so you'll be able to take advantage of Telus' "fastest coast-to-coast 4G network."
