Square Brings Credit Card Readers to Shoppers Drug Mart Stores Across Canada

Today Square announced its Square Reader is now available at 440 Shoppers Drug Mart stores across Canada with a full $10 rebate.

Square Reader enables anyone to accept credit card payments on a mobile device and has seen rapid adoption from individuals and business owners across Canada.

Square Reader is free after rebate and works simply by plugging into the headphone jack of an iPhone, iPad, or Android device.

Square is pushing hard into the Canadian marketplace - they are also available at London Drugs stores across Canada as well as Apple, Best Buy, Future Shop, and Staples.

Square's free card reader and free point of sale software enable anyone to safely and securely accept credit cards and run their business from their iPhone, iPad or Android device.

Square offers one simple, low transaction rate of 2.75% per swipe, with no hidden fees. Funds from swiped payments are available the next business day, eliminating the wait for cash flow. Business owners across the country enjoy the benefits of using Square from increasing their sales to providing an improved customer experience.

Earlier this year Square announced that it expanded the list of credit cards Canadian sellers could accept to include Discover and Diners Club.

Square also eliminated holds and deposit limits on manually entered transactions in Canada. The move was an important step to further remove barriers to growth for local businesses, and made Square an industry leader in eliminating deposit limits and related holds for customers.
