Squarespace Launches Integrated Commerce Service in Canada, Powered by Stripe

New York-based Squarespace, an all-in-one website publishing platform, today announced the Canadian release of Squarespace Commerce, an integrated solution for selling physical and digital goods directly from the Squarespace platform.

Squarespace says Commerce is available to all existing and new Squarespace users in Canada with a flat price of $24 per month that includes all features, imposes no additional commissions, and does not limit SKUs.

“Since launching Squarespace Commerce, we’ve gotten an overwhelming amount of requests to make our new e-commerce features available to Canadian users,” says Anthony Casalena, CEO of Squarespace. “Canada is our second biggest market, and we’re excited to offer the full range of Squarespace’s features and capabilities in this country.”

To accommodate Canada, Squarespace’s interface has been updated with different currencies and measurements. For example, sellers can choose between imperial and metric standards to define product weights and weight-based shipping options. In addition, sellers can define taxes internationally and locally down to the postal code level, and Canadian sellers can list provincial and federal sales taxes separately in order invoices.

Squarespace Commerce in Canada is powered by Stripe, a startup that launched in Canada last November.
