Starbucks Launches Mobile Payments for Android in Canada

Starbucks has revamped its mobile app for Android. With the update comes the ability for Android users to use the coffee company's popular mobile payment process in Canada.

Starbucks first rolled out mobile payments in the US before bringing it to Canada earlier this year on Apple's iPhone. Thus far, Starbucks claims it has seen nearly 55 million mobile transactions. That's a lot of Frappuccinos paid for with smartphones.

While the iPhone app remains more robust than its Android counterpart, the Android version boasts one exclusive feature that cannot be implemented on iOS: a widget displaying your Starbucks card account balance with one-tap access to your barcode.
