Startup Calgary announces 9 Showcase companies for Launch Party

Posted by Techvibes NewsDesk

Nine companies have been selected from an application pool of 37 local tech startups to showcase at the Startup Calgary Launch Party on December 1st.

The winning companies are: Opryx, Minigroup, Hubblr, Kudos, SolversMarket, New Panda, Transithub, Community Point, and Core Connect.

In addition to the announcement of the Showcase winners, there is over $60,000 in prizes available to all of the startups who applied, regardless if they were selected to showcase or not.

Along with their participation at the evening Launch Party, the nine Showcase winners will take part in a pitch boot camp and pitch to a VIP group of VC’s, A100 members and other highly engaged and influential individuals within the tech community.

The nine Showcase winners will give informal demos of their cutting edge technologies and products and sharing their stories with the audience at the evening Launch Party. In addition, the top three startups, chosen by a pre-selected industry panel, will present their pitches on stage at the event.

StartUp Calgary Launch Party 2011 takes place on December 1st from 6:30pm – 9:00pm and will be held at the Roderick Mah Centre for Continuous Learning on the Mount Royal University Campus.  Early-bird tickets are available online for $20 before November 24th.
