Startup Calgary is hosting its fourth annual launch party next month.
To be held on Friday, November 22, the event will feature an impressive keynote speaker: Brad Feld, the managing director of the Foundry Group, a cofounder of reputable US accelerator Techstars, and author of Startup Communities.
Launch Party is an annual celebration of Calgary's startup community where 10 promising local tech startups are showcased to an audience of entrepreneurs, investors, government, corporations, and media. Awards and prizes are given, and the community as a whole comes together to celebrate entrepreneurship. This year's event is on the final day of Global Entrepreneurship Week.
Brad Feld has been an early stage investor and entrepreneur since 1987. Brad is a recognized speaker on the topics of venture capital investing and entrepreneurship while authoring widely read blogs such as Feld Thoughts, Startup Revolution, and Ask the VC.
The other keynote speaker at Startup Calgary's Launch Party will be Chris Kemp, the founder of Nebula, a cloud computing company with a robust lineup of financial backers including Kleiner Perkins and early Google investors. Kemp hails from NASA, where he served at CTO and cofounded the OpenStack Project.
