Jonathan and Joshua Bixby, the co-founders (and brothers) behind Vancouver's Strangeloop Networks, are two of the 40 young entrepreneurs featured in this year's Business in Vancouver Top 40 under 40 list. The brothers started their company in May of 2006 and in a year and a half have expanded from a single employee to 35 workers. The key to their success is AppScaler, an appliance that accelerates Microsoft ASP.Net and AJAX applications while drastically reducing bandwidth consumption. The company secured $11.5 million in private equity venture funding last July, a record-breaking amount for a Canadian tech start-up.
