Strutta Launches New Contest Builder Software, API

by Rob Lewis

Vancouver-based Strutta has launched a redesign of their website and online contest builder, introducing several new features like Facebook Connect, a dashboard to track social (sharing) activity and a voter fraud detection tool.

Since launch over two years ago Strutta has morphed from a platform for fun video competitions into a robust Contest Platform that has agencies and brands taking notice. While they are proud of the work they have done for clients from all over the world, they are most excited about what marketers and developers can create themselves using the Strutta Contest Builder and API.

"Our goal is to continue to provide world-class service and contest expertise to agencies and brands," said Strutta CEO Ben Pickering, "while we make our platform more flexible and accessible for anyone who wants to run a contest."

The Facebook Connect option promises to increase the visibility of a contest, as a Facebook user's contest activity is automatically shared in their timeline. Strutta is also opening up its contest engine to third party developers with the release of the web's first contest API.

In launching their contest API, Strutta is inviting development shops and interactive agencies to rethink how they build and manage online contests. As Pickering points out, Strutta has solutions for marketers that want to build a campaign themselves, for agencies that want to tap into Strutta's custom development and execution experience, and for developers who want to create their own contest iterations using Strutta technology.

Strutta recently hired two new team members and is looking for another PHP/Drupal developer to add their ranks.
