Sun Shines on Vancouver Start-ups

While last month's Launch Party Vancouver came with a Twiist and did a excellent job of wrapping up 2007, this month's LPV3 will ring in a promising 2008. LPV organizers have chosen to celebrate Techvibes' Digital Media People to watch in BC in 2008 along with Raincity Studio's Vancouver Tech Women to Watch in a special Sun Microsystems sponsored event.

Hot on the heels of the Vancouver's 2010 Winter Olympic Games announcement that Sun Microsystems will be the Games Official Computer Network Server Supplier, Sun is stepping up their local presence with the launch of their national Start-up Essentials program. Of all the tech hubs across Canada, they've chosen Vancouver and LPV3 as their launch pad. Very cool.

This time around Launch Party is on Friday, January 25th at the new Lamplighter in Gastown. RSVP on Facebook or the LPV3 site. A select number of local start-ups will be featured at the event and get a chance to demo their new businesses. Event organizers will be perusing our Vancouver Start-up Index to find interesting start-ups to invite, so if you're not on the list, be sure to add your site to the comment string before the index is updated on January 15th.
