Tech Leader Concert Series in Toronto Aims to Conquer Cancer

Posted by Techvibes NewsDesk

On Thursday, May 30 at the Sound Academy on Polson Pier, KPMG is hosting the GTA Tech Leaders Concert Series.

The event is slated to feature tech industry bands Ceridian (formerly Dayforce), Smithson Martin, Intelex, and others. Alan Smithson will also be MCing and DJing the show. If you haven’t heard of Smithson, you should know that such bands as Linkin Park and Infected Mushroom among others use his emulator.

The goal of this event is not only to have fun, but also to raise money in support of the Ride to Conquer Cancer, which takes place on June 8 and 9 through Ontario’s countryside. Ride to Conquer Cancer is a biking event for both professional and amateur riders searching for a challenge as well as an opportunity to raise money for cancer research. The charity ride is also taking place in BC, Alberta, and Quebec.

GTA Tech Leaders Concert Series is sponsoring Ride to Conquer Cancer in memoriam of Michael O’Connor Clarke, a Toronto startup community member who lost the fight with cancer on October 14, 2012.

The concert series will be a fantastic opportunity for tech industry professionals to get out of the office, enjoy some fresh tunes and make some new connections. Tickets are $40 with 100% of the proceeds going to Ride to Conquer Cancer.
