From business software to biotech, social media to interactive hardware, Calgary is home to some of the most innovative inventors and hottest tech companies anywhere in the world and as new inventors mix it up with serial entrepreneurs, Calgary’s tech sector is on the rise. What better way to draw attention to this growing industry bringing new energy and diversity to the Calgary economy, than to have a community initiative dedicated to celebrating Calgary’s own innovators – TechRev Innovators 2010.

An impressive 304 companies were nominated for TechRev Innovators 2010, a platform created to shine the spotlight on milestone achievements of local technology companies. The selection process is now underway with nominees being evaluated on a number of elements including those relating to financial performance, operational growth, and market viability.

TechRev Innovators was launched in 2009. From 132 nominations, 10 companies were recognized as TechRev Innovators 2009. “Being recognized as a TechRev Innovator was one of the major highlights for Circle Cardiovascular Imaging Inc. in 2009. The whole TechRev process from start to finish was efficient, professional and first class. The quality of the case study that was prepared by the TechRev writer was exceptional and provided Circle with a document that could be utilized to introduce the company to potential partners and investors. The media coverage we received was instrumental in raising the company’s profile throughout Alberta and beyond. Events such as TechRev provide a forum to showcase Calgary innovation and entrepreneurship that are so vital to the expansion of our local economy,” explains Greg Ogrodnick, CEO, Circle Cardiovascular Imaging Inc.

TechRev Innovators 2010 will be announced and celebrated on September 16, 2010. Visit www.techrev.ca to sign up and get connected.
