At Techvibes we are excited to provide you with our live coverage of Apple's "Latest Creation" event.

Starting at 1pm EST and 10am Pacific, Apple will begin with their event.  At Techvibes we are following two very "plugged-in" websites:  Engadget.com and Apple Insider.

After the announcement and event, Techvibes will post thoughts from Marketcircle CEO Alykhan Jetha (AJ).  Marketcircle has been developing apps for Apple Mac and iPhone for many years now and has some insight into the company and it's strategies.

Last night Engadget "received" an "image" of the new Apple tablet.

"We want to kick of 2010 by introducing a magical and revolutionary product today... but first I have a few updates." - Steve Jobs.

1:07pm

"Now where do we get this revenue? iPods, iPhones, and Macs. What's interesting is that iPods are mobile devices, the iPhone is, and most of our computers. We're a mobile company. That's what we do. How do we stack up against all the other companies that sell mobile devices? We're the largest mobile device company in the world." - Steve Jobs

1:10pm

The following are quotes from Steve Jobs as reported by Engadget:

"SO all of us use laptops and smartphones... the question has arisen; is there room for something in the middle. We've wondered for years as well -- in order to create that category, they have to be far better at doing some key tasks... better than the laptop, better than the smartphone."

"What kind of tasks? Browsing the web. Doing email. Enjoying and sharing pics. Watching videos. Enjoying music. Playing games. Reading ebooks."

"If there's gonna be a third category, it has to be better at these tasks -- otherwise it has no reason for being."

"Now some people thought that was a netbook -- the problem is that netbooks aren't better than anything!"

"We think we've got something that is better. And we call it the iPad."

"Let me show it to you now."

"So, gonna give you a little overview. It's very thin -- you can change the homescreen to whatever you want. What this device does is extraordinary. You can browse the web with it. It's the best web experience you've ever had."

Gameloft, an app game developer, was invited 2 weeks ago to help develop some cool things.

1:43pm

Martin Nisenholtz from New York Times is on stage. "We think we've captured the essence of reading the newspaper. A superior experience in a native application."

1:47pm

Travis Boatman from Electronic Arts is now on stage. "When Apple invited us to come on site, we couldn't have been more excited."

1:49pm

Major League Baseball is taking the stage! MLB.com "We were excited to build something for the iPad. We had to create a whole new experience for this display."

1:52pm

Alykhan Jetha, CEO of Marketplace, has some thoughts for the Techvibes community:

"I see multiple iPad's in a home - around the house kind of thing. Traditional tablet systems (running Windows) are now instantly dinosaurs. Apps will be available soon since existing iPhone apps can run already."

1:54pm

Here comes the Kindle killer announcement: "Let me show you another... one of our apps. That's an ebook reader. Now Amazon has done a great job of pioneering this... we're going to stand on their shoulders for this. Our new app is called iBooks." - Steve Jobs

2:17pm

Expect the iPad in Canada in June 2010.
