Tell Ten Friends about Real Estate Week

Posted by Rob Lewis on Mon, September 10, 2007 12:39 PM · Filed under Portland , Vancouver , Events · 2 Comments

Jordan Behan of Tell Ten Friends was kind enough to mention Techcouver in his post yesterday dedicated to Real Estate Week.

What makes this real estate week in Vancouver? You'll have to track Jordan down to ask but my guess it has a lot to do with The Real Estate Tech Meetup tonight which will feature a presentation by Joel Burslem, author of Futureofrealestatemarketing.com. Burslem who works for Inman News out of Portland is in Vancouver to share a few insights about trends in online marketing in the real estate business.

Thanks to the Steve Jagger of Ubertor for organizing the Real Estate Tech Meetups and getting such top notch speakers. Don't be surprised if you see Jordan speaking at an upcoming meetup - he's taping a segment with CityTV's Realty Television show this week on the subject of the web & social media and their part in the rapidly changing real estate industry.

As part of his Real Estate Week post, Jordan also mentions Canada’s first significant real estate/social media/community site - MyRealPlace.com. They made it on to the Techcouver map and you'll be hearing more about them on this blog soon.

Thanks for the plug for Real Estate Week!

I'm not sure how many real estate related posts I'll be able to turn out (the first was pretty comprehensive), but you guessed it; the fact that there are so many realty-related activities in my world at the moment is how I decided to theme the week.

I'll let you know if I end up doing another presentation at the Real Estate Tech Meetup; I did a "Web Marketing 101" a few months back that was quite well-received.

By the way, nice work on the Techcouver Map. It's great to be able to show the world that Vancouver is a real player in the future of the world wide web.
