TELUS Acquisition to Reduce Travel

Posted by Rob Lewis on Wed, January 30, 2008 12:19 PM · Filed under Toronto, Vancouver · Comments

TELUS announced today that it has acquired Toronto-based web streaming solutions provider Fastvibe Corporation. Launched in 2000, Fastvibe currently serves 130 corporate customers including Bank of Montreal, Bank of Nova Scotia, Barrick Gold, Trans Canada Pipelines, Ministry Of Education of Ontario, Torstar and Investors Group. Fastvibe's custom application takes live or pre-recorded video and audio, and custom wraps it with an organization’s communication tools including logo, brand colours, images and PowerPoint presentations. The software also provides for chat, question and answer, and poling capabilities. The acquisition strengthens TELUS’ technology solutions portfolio by offering Canadian businesses an environmentally responsible and cost effective way to deliver information like training, employee communications and investor information to staff and stakeholders who are geographically dispersed. Kudos to TELUS - although the clean & green spin on the press release for this acquisition feels like a bit of a reach, they continue to fulfill their commitment to the environment and justify their inclusion in the Dow Jones Sustainability World Index.
