TELUS brings back half-price Tuesdays to the movies

While prices still don't compare to the $2.50 Tuesdays of the 1980s, this is a start.

Cineplex Entertainment and TELUS announced today the arrival of TELUS Tuesdays exclusively in Cineplex Entertainment theatres across Canada. Effective today, Canadians can experience a completely new entertainment package each Tuesday with the TELUS Half Price Movie Combo that includes a movie, a regular popcorn and a regular fountain drink for half price.

“Everyone loves going to the movies and we all want great value for a night out so this is really an unbeatable combination,” said Pat Marshall, Vice President, Communications and Investor Relations for Cineplex Entertainment. “TELUS Tuesdays is your ticket to great movies, great value and a great escape.”

“TELUS is delighted to be working with Cineplex Entertainment to bring back discounted Tuesdays, a Canadian favourite,” said JJ Hochrein, director Marketing Communications at TELUS. “We believe TELUS Tuesdays will provide lots of fun and added value for TELUS and Cineplex customers across the country.”

Smart move by TELUS and Cineplex. In today's economy everyone is looking for a deal and a discount weekday night helps shift demand away from more popular weekend screenings.
